The future is now! Alternative fuel-source car usage is on the rise, and with sleeker and more affordable hybrid and full-electric models coming out every year, the way that people think of driving is in rapid flux.
The current industry leader for electric cars is Tesla Motors, a premium vehicle distributor founded in 2003 by a group of Silicon Valley engineers. The mission statement for Tesla was simple from the very beginning: to prove that an environmentally friendly electric vehicle could still be awesome, and they’ve stayed true to the cause.
As a result, between 18 and 20 thousand Teslas were sold in the U.S. in 2013 alone.
Just a phase? Here at Reliable, we really don’t think so. That’s why our technicians were thrilled for the opportunity to install electric car chargers in the Meridian Condominiums of Boca Raton this past summer. Our expert electricians arrived at the scene to put in the EVSE (electric vehicle service equipment), and the job was perfect success. As the Reliable professionals are receiving more and more calls about this service, we thought that it would be wise to write up some considerations that all home and business owners should make before they invest in an ESVE of their own:
- Amperage– An EVSE should have 30 amps of power at least. This power capacity will give you about 30 miles of range in one hour. Consider, however, a higher powered one! The better your Tesla or other brand electric vehicle can charge, the better it will run.
- Cost- Generally, an EVSE costs about $600 to $700 dollars — well worth the massive fuel savings and reduction of carbon footprint.
- Portability- If possible, you may want to have your Reliable electrician install a few NEMA 14-50 outlets (these are the larger, more powerful sockets used commonly for washing machines and clothes driers) so that your EVSE can be mounted in multiple places.
Once you have your Tesla charging station put in by a My Reliable electrician, you won’t ever have to worry about it today. Have you already invested in an electric car? Then call the Tesla-certified experts to install your EVSE today!
